The Pregnancy Care Centers of North Willamette Valley
Present
the 2010 Annual Steps for Life Event

Step for LifefootstepsWalk

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

At the Nazarene Church, 920 Shirley Street, Molalla, OR
(corner of highway 211 and Shirley Street)

Steps for Life is a life-focused event taking place in various cities around the country and benefits your local Pregnancy Care Center.  We not only extend an invitation for you to participate in the walk or the new 5K run (you can now truly get in a sweat for your pledges!), but also to spend the day with other pro-life people from the community.  This is an excellent opportunity to gather pro-life resources, explore the tables of many area God-centered organizations, speak to their representatives and find your place in ministry.  Collect pledges to help support life and those facing difficult or unplanned pregnancies.  100% of pledges go to making a difference locally!

This event does multiple things.  First, it raises awareness in the local community concerning the peril of the unborn in this country.  It also allows us to let everyone know how the Pregnancy Care Centers are part of the solution by providing free and confidential services to young men and women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.  For a list of free services offered to the community please visit http://www.pccnwv.org/about/about.htm.  In addition, many other ministries will be represented allowing event attendees to connect with a variety of family and pro-life groups.

Q13. What do I need to know about filling out the sponsorship forms?

You may print and fill as many as you would like.  At the top of every sheet you need to list your personal information and your sponsorship goal.  Please encourage your sponsors to fill out the form legibly and completely.  Each year many pledges are lost due to missing, incorrect, or illegible writing.  Only filling out the form partially will result in that sponsor not getting a tax deductible receipt and dramatically increases the workload on our staff.  All checks must be written to the “Pregnancy Care Centers of NWV.”

Q14. What do I say to get someone to sponsor me?

Let them know about Steps for Life and what it is about and that it is a valuable cause.  After this, simply ask “Will you sponsor me in this event?”  Also, you can email your friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers the link to the online pledge form.  Our website has a sample email that you can use available at http://www.pccnwv.org/event/steps/steps2.htm.  Nine out of ten requests for sponsorships result in a “yes.”  People who might not ordinarily give will want to help you reach your goal.

Q15. How much should a sponsor pledge?

Sponsors can pledge as much or as little as they would like.  You can leave it up to them or make suggestions of $20, $50, or $100.  Even dollar increments make accounting much easier.

Q16. What payment options do sponsors have?

Sponsors may choose to pay you immediately by check or in cash.  Please take care with this money until you deliver it the day of the event.  Sponsors do not have to pre-pay, but may indicate instead that they want to be billed later.  In that case please let them know they will receive a follow-up invoice from the Pregnancy Care Centers soon after the event is over.  Sponsors may then send payment back to us by check, money order, cash, or by credit card.
